Trauma-Informed, Somatic Therapy in Ottawa
Connecting with who we authentically are can be difficult and confusing in the current state of the world. Through online therapy I want to invite you to journey into yourself and to grow closer to the authentic version of yourself.
Your journey begins with you
A Place Of Healing and Growth
Therapy can spark real growth and real change, and growth is rarely comfortable. As you move away from old patterns, things can feel unfamiliar before they feel better. I'll be direct with you when it's useful, and gentle when it matters most, so we can move at a pace that actually gets you somewhere. Through our work together, you'll feel more integrated in mind, body, and spirit.
Meet Isabelle Fontaine, MA, RP
Based in Ottawa, Ontario, I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO #008566). I've been working with clients since 2017 and hold a B.A. in Psychology and a Master's in Counselling & Spirituality from Saint Paul University (2019), along with a 200-hour yoga teacher certification (RYT-200) through Yoga Alliance, 40 hours of trauma-sensitive yoga training, and personal experience with Vipassana meditation.
I draw on evidence-based, integrative approaches, including AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), EMDR, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic therapy, to meet you exactly where you are. AEDP in particular is still uncommon in Ontario, and it's central to how I help clients process trauma and emotion through both the mind and the body. Few therapists in Ottawa combine this depth of trauma-informed clinical training and body-based practice, and that integration is at the heart of how I work.
Through a client-centered and integrated approach, I work collaboratively with you and meet you where you are. My goal is to assist you to get closer to the more authentic you while exploring yourself in relationships with yourself and others.

I don't rely on one single method. I integrate AEDP, EMDR, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and somatic approaches, and I'll be direct with you about patterns I notice, not just a passive listener. The goal is real, felt change, not just talking in circles.
